New AstraZeneca walk-in vaccination clinic in downtown Hamilton

First Published:

The City of Hamilton is taking walk-ins at a primary care vaccination clinic downtown.

The David Braley Health Sciences Centre, at Main St. and Bay St., is distributing the AstraZeneca vaccine for people 40 and older until May 13.

Walk-ins will be accepted Friday (11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.), Saturday and Sunday (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).

People getting a walk-in shot will be able to book their second dose and anyone still waiting in line when the day is done will be able to book an appointment for the next day.

Beyond Sunday, people can book an appointment for a vaccine by calling the Hamilton Public Health Services COVID-19 hotline and selecting option 7.

You have to show proof of your age when you arrive.

Winterberry Family Medicine in Stoney Creek is also offering the AstraZeneca vaccine for people 40 and older.

The clinic says it received 1,500 vaccine doses and is taking appointments on a first-come, first-serve basis.
