4 designer-approved ways to layout your living room

Choosing the right couch is hard, but choosing one with your significant other is even harder.

Interior designer Glen Peloso joined Bob Cowan on Morning Live with some tips for a happy sofa shopping experience for both.

“Ideally you want to be able to create a conversation circle,” Peloso said.

“Make sure that each seat in that room is about eight feet away from each other because beyond eight feet, it feels like we have to yell at people. But when you’re within eight feet, it feels like we can have a nice conversation.”

If you have the space, Peloso also recommended moving your furniture away from the wall.

“The further away the furniture is from the wall, the more opulent the room feels, the more elegant the room feels,” he said.
