Man sought after Hamilton Mountain home ransacked

First Published:

Hamilton police are hoping the public can help identify a man who was caught on camera shortly before a Hamilton Mountain home was ransacked.

Police say around 10 a.m. Tuesday, a man was captured on a security camera on the front porch of a home in the area of Garth St. and Fennell Ave. West.

The residents, who were not home at the time, could see the man “acting suspiciously” through the video doorbell system. Following a brief conversation with the homeowners through the system, the man proceeded to walk away.

A short time later, the home was broken into and property was stolen.

Police believe the man who was captured on the surveillance camera was involved in the break-in.

He is described as having a stocky build, a beard, and goatee. The man was wearing a blue collared shirt, green shorts, and a baseball hat.

Anyone who may recognize the suspect is asked to contact Det. Sgt. Hall at 905-546-3851.
