Jeopardy! pays tribute to Alex Trebek

First Published:

Jeopardy! paid tribute to late host Alex Trebek with a touching introduction.

The show’s executive producer Mike Richards called Trebek’s death “an enormous loss” for the staff and crew – as well as for Trebek’s family and his millions of fans.

“He will forever be an inspiration for his constant desire to learn, his kindness and for his love of his family,” he said.

The opening was followed by a moment of silence with the lights dimmed.

Trebek died Sunday at the age of 80 following a battle with cancer.

The last show he hosted will air on Christmas Day.
