A heat warning has been issued in Hamilton for Thursday as temperatures are expected to reach into the 30s again.
Environment Canada says a two-day heat event begins Thursday and continues into Friday before cooler temperatures bring relief on the weekend.
The high is expected to reach 31 degrees Celsius with the evening low only dipping to 19 tonight.
Overnight temperatures are forecast to be in the high teens Thursday and Friday night and will provide little relief from the heat during the day.
Hot and humid air can also deteriorate air quality and result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.
Hamilton is offering residents “cool places” to go to around the city, marked by a “Cool Down Here” sign at the entrance.
People are also invited to enjoy the city’s indoor swimming pools free of charge.
Signs of heat exhaustion include heavy sweating, weakness, cold, pale and clammy skin, weak pulse, fainting and vomiting.
