Since 2014, every January 21st has been recognized as Lincoln Alexander Day across Canada.
Today would have been the 98th birthday of the first black member of parliament in the country, the first black Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, and the pride of Hamilton, but his grand-daughter says despite having a national day of recognition, Lincoln Alexander is already being forgotten.
