Freezing rain weather alert issued for Hamilton area this morning

A freezing rain warning is in effect for Hamilton as some parts of southern Ontario are already seeing it this morning.
Hamilton is expected to get two to four centimeters of snow by tonight.
The City of Hamilton wants to remind drivers to give the plows plenty of room to clear the roads throughout the day.

Precipitation is expected to begin as freezing rain or ice pellets before transitioning to snow or rain early this morning. Additionally, Winds are expected to be very strong.
Highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Environment Canada suggests taking extra precautions when walking or driving in affected areas.
There also may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
