Ford government budgets $12B for new vehicle, battery production

First Published:

The Ford government is promising to spend more than $12 billion on new vehicle production and battery manufacturing after this year’s budget was unveiled on Thursday.

Experts say that money will go a long way to help the province compete against North American competition.

Electric vehicles are the way of the future in Ontario and many say that the budget reflects that.

Close to $1 billion is to help build all-season roads in order to access mineral opportunities in Northern Ontario.

The proposed budget totals $198.6 billion.
