Education Minister Stephen Lecce has announced $550 million to help schools re-open safely.
About $500 million of that is from a taxpayer reserve fund that the ministry is allowing individual school boards to pull from.
Another $50 million is to update school ventilation systems.
The announcement comes just weeks before school is set to resume.
