Dr. Pierre Picard, 48, of Dundas, is facing two charges of sexual assault.

Hamilton police say a woman came to them in August, saying she was sexually assaulted by her doctor back in June. And during an investigation a second woman came forward saying she was assaulted by the same doctor in July.

Police arrested Picard yesterday.

Dr. Picard is said to work out of a medical building across from Hamilton General Hospital on Victoria Avenue North.

The College of Physcicians and Surgeons of Ontario says they too are investigating and say Dr. Picard has voluntarily agreed to post signs in the waiting rooms and each examination room in all his practices.

The signs will say “Dr. Picard will not have professional encounters with female patients unless in the presence of a female practice monitor acceptable to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. Picard will not be alone with any female patient during any professional encounter.”
