Woman, baby boy hospitalized after serious crash in Niagara Falls
A woman and her child are in hospital following a serious single-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in rural Niagara Falls.
Niagara police say a woman in her 20s was driving a green Pontiac GFS with her baby boy in the area of Netherby Road and Crowland Avenue around 1 p.m. when the car left the roadway and struck a pole.
An Ornge air ambulance transported the woman to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
Paramedics brought the baby boy to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police have closed Netherby Road between Morris and Koabel roads for an investigation.
Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.

According to Niagara Peninsula Energy Crews who were at the scene 26 customers in the area near the crash are experiencing outages since around the time of the collision this afternoon. We reached out to Niagara Peninsula Energy but have not heard back.
