The Wind Rises is the latest from the acclaimed Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli. It is the final film from celebrated director Hayao Miyazaki and tells the life story of Jiro Horikoshi, an aircraft engineer who designed the Japanese fighter planes used during World War II.

While The Wind Rises is not a typical Studio Ghibli project, it is infused with the optimistic, adventurous spirit the studio is known for. The depiction of Horikoshi in the film is not a historical representation, but is actually based on a manga written by Miyazaki in 2009.

The Wind Rises is rated PG.
