What’s closed Feb. 18 amid freezing rain storm in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara

Environment Canada says several hours of freezing rain leading to significant ice build-up is expected Wednesday. Here’s what’s closed due to the freezing rain:

Hamilton

  • Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board schools, adult education, school-based child care centres and administrative buildings;
  • Transportation cancelled for Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board schools, adult education. However, all schools remain open;
  • Providence Christian School;
  • Calvin Christian School’s West 5th and Unity Campuses;
  • Hillfield Strathallan College;
  • ÉS Académie Catholique Mère-Teresa, ÉÉC Monseigneur-de-Laval and ÉÉC Notre-Dame;
  • Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts;
  • The Choices Association Community participation programs are closed;
  • DARTS will not be operating;
  • Dundas Community Services has cancelled all meal and transportation services;
  • Six Nations of the Grand River offices, including the Family Health Team;
  • The Trailblazers Club;
  • VON Meals on Wheels Hamilton is cancelled;
  • The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

Halton Region

  • Transportation cancelled for Zones 1, 2 and 3 in the Halton District School Board and Halton Catholic District School Board, schools remain open;
  • Trinity Christian School – Burlington, buses cancelled, school remains open.

Haldimand-Norfolk

  •  ÉÉC Sainte-Marie Norfolk;
  • Haldimand-Norfolk Community Senior Support Services – all Meals on Wheels, Transportation and Adult Day Programs.

Brantford and Brant County

  • Grand Erie District School Board schools, administrative buildings and child-care facilities;
  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, transportation cancelled and schools closed all zones;
  • ÉÉC Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys Brantford.
