Westdale Secondary School was closed Friday following a shooting threat

Westdale Secondary School was closed today as a precaution following a threat of a shooting.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board made the decision after the threat was found written on a bathroom wall Wednesday.

Hamilton police arrested a 19-year-old Hamilton man, but he was later released. He was charged with two counts of utter threat to cause death or bodily harm.

Hamilton police are currently investigating multiple threats received at a number of schools Thursday.

Hamilton police have also arrested a 14-year-old girl after a threat was made at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School. She was charged with mischief under $5,000.
