Welland luxury condo project partially collapses Saturday night

The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a $55-million luxury condo project partially collapsed in Welland.
It happened Saturday night at the Upper Vista Welland Condominiums on Prince Charles Dr.
Welland’s chief building official Jack Tosta told CHCH News the extent of the damage is concentrated to four floor slabs on the exterior of the building, as well as interior load bearing balls.

No one was reported to be in the building at the time of the incident.
Evertrust Development, the company that owns the building, says it is working closely with the City of Welland and Ministry of Labour to investigate the cause and determine the condition of the rest of the building.
All 226 condo units have already been sold.
