Wanted federal offender arrested in Niagara Falls after string of break-ins

A wanted federal offender has been arrested in Niagara Falls following a string of residential break and enters last week.
Niagara police received multiple reports on Jan. 25 of break-ins in the area on the east side of the falls, close to the library.
Police say $10,000 worth of tools were stolen, and a home suffered some damage in one of the instances.
An investigation led to the arrest of 40-year-old Joseph Camus of Niagara Falls on Jan. 25.
Camus was charged with six counts of break and enter and was held in custody pending a video bail hearing in St. Catharines.

Ontario Provincial Police had previously sent out a release in October saying Camus was wanted by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad for breaching his statutory release.
He is currently serving a two year and one month sentence for two counts of break, enter and commit, mischief in relation to other property, theft under $5000 and obstruction of a peace officer.
