Want to retire early? Start saving up cash

A new study finds many young Canadians want to retire early, but lots aren’t saving up for it.

The Bank of Montreal report finds over 40% of those surveyed between the ages of 18 and 34 expect to stop working before they hit 60 years old. Plus nearly 60 per cent want to retire by the time they’re 69.

But a rep for the bank’s retirement institute says these expectations aren’t realistic — since 27% of respondents have not started saving for retirement.
