Voortman Bakery to close retail store in Burlington

Voortman Bakery’s retail store in Burlington is closing its doors because of COVID-19.

The retail store is located at its baking facility on North Service Rd.

“This decision was not made lightly but was necessary due to the store’s direct proximity to the manufacturing facility,” said a statement on Facebook.

“This enables us to continue safely baking our cookies while ensuring the safety of our production staff.”

Voortman cookies will still be available at retailers.

Meanwhile, the company says it will continue to support the Burlington community by monthly donations to local food banks and participation in community events.
