A man survived a plunge over the lower Niagara River near the Canadian falls Sunday afternoon, according to a video that is being circulated on social media.
Videos posted to social media, including one on Instagram that generated over 3.2 million views show the man swimming in the water after his hop over the Horseshoe Falls.
The Niagara Parks Act states that jumping in the water near the falls is considered trespassing.
Rescues within the Niagara Gorge can be risky due to the terrain and fast-moving currents in some areas.
There is no word yet on if the man was injured.
