Trending today were bright, colourful socks to commemorate those living with down syndrome.
Every March 21st is “World Down Syndrome Day.”
The condition is usually caused when a child is born with an extra copy of the 21st chromosome.
The day of honour is also about bringing awareness, celebrating achievements, and breaking barriers in areas like education, employment, and social settings.
One barrier many are trying to break is “ending the stereotypes” about people with down syndrome, which is the theme of this year’s commemoration.
