Veteran OPP officers charged in provincial towing scandal
Three veteran officers of the Ontario Provincial Police are facing charges in connection with an investigation into the province’s towing industry. Four other members of the provincial police force are under suspension in connection with the probe which began in October of 2019. Each charged officer has at least twenty years service with the OPP and worked either in the Highway Safety Division or Toronto detachment. They all face charges of secret commissions and breach of trust with one having an additional count of obtaining sexual services for consideration.
