Pinned on the floor with a gun to his head. One business owner says five men stormed into his variety store on the Hamilton Mountain last night and took thousands of dollars worth of merchandise.

It was a scary couple of minutes inside a Big Bear Variety store on Mohawk near Upper Wellington. There was a customer in the store, when at 10 o’clock last night, 5 masked men pulled a gun on the owner, Muhammad Siddiqui.

Siddiqui says all five of the thieves were black men wearing masks who stole thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes, cash, and other merchandise.

All while Siddiqui and the terrified customer were pinned on the floor. Unfortunately, this is not the first time this variety store was violently robbed less than three weeks ago, Siddiqui says three masked men came in with knives.

Aside from stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods, both times the thieves also broke equipment like the surveillance camera and a laptop. Siddiqui believes two of the men in the first robbery also participated in last nights.

The owner says his biggest concern is that he fears customers will be scared to go in his business.

Owners of this pizza shop in the same plaza are also worried about these violent attacks.

Hamilton Police say they are currently searching for the people involved.
