Vape detectors to be installed in three Hamilton Catholic high schools

Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board announced they will be installing vape detectors in three schools.
The devices will be in bathrooms in Cathedral High School, Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School and St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School.
The detectors are said to alert administrative staff of vaping, aggression, gunshots and occupancy counting, among other concerns.
The school board received $123,176 for three years toward critical safety infrastructure.
The installations will cost around $120,000 and are planned for this summer.
