U.S. Hikers in Iran prison freed

Two American hikers held for more than two years are finally headed home.

Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer left Iran’s Evin Prison today bound for Muscat, Oman where the two will be reunited with their families.
Both men were convicted last month of spying and entering Iran illegally and faced eight years in prison.

Last week Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hinted the men would be freed.
Iran’s judiciary followed suit commuting the hiker’s sentences after each paid a bail of $500,000.
A third american with them, Sarah Shourd was freed last year on bail for medical reasons.
