Hamilton Police are appealing for the public’s assistance after two shootings, one Saturday evening and another early Sunday morning.

The first shooting occurred at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, east of Kenilworth Avenue on Barton. According to the HPS release, it occurred at Barton Street East and Harmony Avenue when a vehicle travelling westbound on Barton was shot at by two suspects on foot.

Those suspects then ran south and the victim drove to the nearby Centre Mall to call police. That person was transported to hospital with serious injuries and initial evidence indicates the incident may be targeted, say police.

Residents and businesses in the area of Barton Street East, Frederick Avenue, Tragina Avenue North, Britannia Avenue, and Harmony Avenue are asked to check any surveillance or dash camera footage they may have of the two suspects who may have been seen on foot around that time.

The second shooting took place at approximately 3:20 a.m. on Sunday. Police were called to a party at a short-term rental property on Highway 6, near Concession Road 6 West in Flamborough. One person sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital. At this time, police do not have a suspect or vehicle description.

CHCH News has confirmed this is the same short-term rental where one man was shot dead just over a year ago during a party at the property.

Investigators are asking nearby residents and businesses along Highway 6, Concession Road 6 West, Concession Road 6 East, and Millgrove Side Road to review any surveillance or dash camera footage they may have for suspicious activity during the early morning hours.
