Two search warrants in Hagersville, Ont. leads to drug bust

A 56-year-old man is facing charges after two search warrants in Haldimand County led to the discovery of fentanyl and other contraband items.

On Feb. 12, a joint investigation with Haldimand-Norfolk OPP, along with other OPP units, and Six Nations Police, executed search warrants at two John Street homes in Hagersville, Ont.

Detectives allegedly found a quantity of suspected fentanyl, Canadian cash and other offence-related items.

Matthew Paterson of Hagersville, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl;
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.

Paterson is scheduled to attend court in Cayuga, Ont. on April 28.
