Two people in hospital following head-on collison in West Lincoln

Two people were taken to hospital following a head-on collision in West Lincoln on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Caistorville Rd. and Concession Rd. 3 around 6:25 a.m.

Niagara police say a blue Honda CR-V being driven by a 20-year-old Dunnville man was travelling northbound on Caistorville Rd. and a blue Nissan Altima being driven by a 46-year-old Georgetown woman was heading southbound.

Police say the vehicles collided sending the Nissan off the roadway into a ditch and causing the Honda to flip onto its roof.

The man was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman suffered life threatening injuries and was taken to an out-of-region hospital where she remains in stable condition.

Detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken over the investigation.
