Niagara police have arrested two people in a Niagara Falls human trafficking investigation that started back in July.
On Monday, investigators say they arrested 30-year-old Brandon Fitzgerald and charged him with trafficking people, advertising another person’s sexual service, extortion, forcible confinement and breaching probation.
Officers say this follows the arrest of 30-year-old Mariah Wickenden of Niagara Falls on Sept. 4, who was charged with the same charges as Fitzgerald.
Detectives say that due to the nature of the investigation, they have reason to believe there are additional witnesses and are urging them to come forward.
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009742.
Members of the community who wish to provide information anonymously can contact Crime Stoppers of Niagara online or by calling 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
