Two men charged following armed robbery in Lincoln

Two men have been arrested and charged after attempting to steal scrap metal in Lincoln with a firearm.
Niagara police were called to the area of King St. and Durham Rd. on Dec. 3 for a report of an armed person.
Investigators say that two men went to a residence in that area to try to steal scrap metal. At this time, the owner of the scrap metal was present and told the suspects the metal belonged to him.
All three men got into an argument, which escalated to one of the suspects pointing a silver revolver-style handgun at the victim.
The victim was not injured and both suspects fled the location prior to police arriving.
Thirty-one-year-old Matthew Mendolia, of Port Dover, was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm and pointing a firearm. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place on Dec. 15.
Twenty-seven-year-old Tony Mendolia, of Hamilton, was also arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm and pointing a firearm. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place on Dec. 14.
