Trudeau to hold cabinet meeting in Hamilton this month: PMO

A Canadian government official says Justin Trudeau will hold a cabinet meeting in Hamilton later this month.

In an email to CHCH News, the official confirmed that the retreat will take place from Jan. 23 to 25 in the city.

“The retreat will focus on growing and strengthening the economy, making life more affordable, improving health care for Canadians, expanding our supply chain, and our ongoing efforts to combat climate change,” they wrote in an email statement.

The news comes as Trudeau meets with his Mexican counterpart Wednesday to conclude the North American Leaders’ Summit.

Before the meeting with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Trudeau gave a keynote speech at Centro University.

He promoted Canada as a key trading partner, saying creating trade barriers prevents growth and is unhelpful.

He says Canada, the U.S. and Mexico have all the ingredients needed to be successful.
