Trudeau pledges ‘full confidence’ in deputy PM amid rumours of tension
The Liberal Party is still scrambling to regain voter’s favour, after an upset by-election loss in Toronto last month.
While many have called for Trudeau to step down, new rumours are swirling that Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Chrystia Freeland, might be the one taking the fall.
“Freeland” is trending today, alongside “Carney” the former Bank of Canada governor who may be coming for her job. Trudeau was asked about the rumours and said he continues to have “full confidence” in Freeland, but that he’s also trying to convince Carney to join the party.
