Trudeau pauses on Trump question

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took a long pause today before answering a question about the US President Donald Trump’s reaction to the racial violence going on in that country.
Speaking outside his Rideau cottage home this morning, Trudeau stood silently for a time before answering that Canadians are looking at the violence in the US with “horror and consternation.”
He then went on to say it’s also a time for Canadians to recognize that we too have our racial challenges.
He repeated his statement from Monday that there is systematic discrimination in Canada.
He called it a “lived reality” for Canadians of colour.
Meanwhile, American cities have erupted in violence and destruction in a seventh straight night of unrest after the death of George Floyd, a black man in Minnesota, under the knee of a white police officer.
Last night several police officers were shot or run over, amid boasts and threats from President Donald Trump to send in troops to “dominate the streets.”
