Truck used to pull mobile soup kitchen stolen in Ancaster

The community is rallying around an Ancaster couple who is known for giving back after someone stole their truck from their driveway early Thursday morning.

Roger Boyd created the Men’s Street Ministry just over a year ago and he and his wife, Janet, have been dishing out hot soup and warm clothing to those in need on cold winter nights.

The couple uses their 2017 Dodge Ram pick-up truck to pull a mobile soup kitchen around the city. But on Thursday, Boyd walked out of his home around 7 a.m. and saw his truck was gone.

The truck is brown and has a beige, leather interior, with chrome bumpers, rims, mirror covers and accents. It also had “Men’s Street Ministry” magnetic placards attached to the doors but police believe they have most likely been removed. The license plate number is AS73 727.

Hamilton police are asking the public for their help in locating Boyd’s “beloved workhorse.”

Several people have come forward to offer to take Boyd out while he distributes food and clothing this weekend.

Anyone with information that could help with the investigation is asked to call police at 905-546-3886.
