Truck fire closes section of Barton Street in Hamilton’s east end

A single-vehicle truck fire has prompted a road closure in Hamilton’s east end in the area of Barton Street eastbound from Centennial Parkway.

The truck appeared to be towing four all-terrain vehicles (ATVs). A tow truck is on scene and only one turning lane is closed.

Motorists are being advised to expect delays, avoid the affected area and use alternate routes while emergency crews tend to the scene.

Roads are expected to reopen shortly.
