Transport Canada has issued a recall for more than 13,000 Volkswagen vehicles due to a risk of fire.

The recall says the transmission ground wire on certain vehicles may not have been connected during production.

This can cause the wiring or other parts near it to overheat.

The model affected by the recall is the Volkswagen Jetta, manufactured in 2025 and 2026.

Transport Canada says Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise drivers to take their vehicles to a dealership to inspect and repair the transmission ground wire if necessary.
