Official results for the Town of Milton’s Ward 1 byelection are in.

George Minakakis has been elected as the Ward 1 Town Councillor for the remainder of the current term.

The Ward 1 byelection saw a voter turnout of 17 per cent, with 3,971 out of 23,155 eligible voters casting a ballot.

The Ward 1 byelection results are as follows:

Zaheer Ashraf: 364

Adejisola Atiba: 96

Rick Di Lorenzo: 958

Shahbaz Khan: 29

George Minakakis: 1804

Pat O’Reilly: 79

Zainab Raza: 565

Gourav Suri: 51

Cecil Young: 25

The Ward 1 seat was declared vacant earlier this year after Kristina Tesser Derksen was elected as the Member of Parliament for Milton East—Halton Hills South.
