Burlington City Hall has been placed under a hold-and-secure Wednesday following reports of a threat.

The City made the announcement on Facebook at about 3:30 p.m.

“The City is actively monitoring the situation and working with Halton Regional Police to resolve the matter,” the post reads.

A Halton police spokesperson tells CHCH News that they received a call around 2 p.m. for a report of a threat towards the City.

“There are no reported injuries to staff, no arrests made at this point and officers are investigating the threat,” Const. Jeff Dillon writes in an email.

He also says the hold-and-secure was initiated by the City of Burlington and not issued by police.

Burlington City Hall will remain closed for the rest of the day.

This is a developing story. More to come.
