Toronto teacher hits excessive speeds

A Toronto teacher is facing charges after police allege a passenger van full of students was clocked at 146 kilometres per hour on Highway 401 near Merlin in southwestern Ontario.

The van, carrying 12 students, was heading to a basketball tournament in Windsor. 44 year old Paul Melnik, a teacher at Father Henry Carr Secondary School in Toronto’s west-end, is charged with speeding and having an improper class of licence.
