Gas plant contempt motions

Video added Liberal cabinet ministers have been ruled not in contempt by the Speaker of the Ontario Legislature.

Speaker Dave Levac also ruled that the ministers did not intentionally mislead the house about the release of documents regarding the cancelled gas plants in Mississauga and Oakville.

Levac says that then-energy minister Chris Bentley and rest of the Liberals were wrong when they insisted last September all the gas plant documents had been released. Another 20,000 pages turned up in October, and even more appeared last month. However, Levac says he must assume the Liberals believed they were being honest at the time.
