Toronto protestors storm meeting

Protesters from the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty have disrupted a meeting of Toronto’s budget committee.

They stood up as city staff outlined the 2012 budget and demanded to be heard.

A recess was called for prompting the protesters to accuse councillors of running away.

Outside the committee room, several coalition members scuffled with police and security.

They’re upset over proposed cuts to bus shelters, TTC routes and homeless shelters.
