Toronto celebrates Argo win

Updated Toronto sports fans held a championship party today!

The Argos paraded the Grey Cup through the streets of Toronto in celebration of their 35-22 win over the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday. Fans cheered through the procession, which started near Union Station, and went up Bay Street to Toronto City Hall. There, a city official read a proclamation declaring today Toronto Argonauts day.

The team, together with coach Scott Milanovich were on stage to thank fans for all their support. “I think it was always in our dreams, and these players, these coaches and this organization always believed we’d have an opportunity to be standing here tonight.”

“I just hope the fans are as proud of this team as I am.”

It was the first championship parade in Toronto since the Argos last won the Grey Cup in 2004.
