Tiger~Cats transactions

After two seasons in black and gold, receiver Aaron Kelly has been released by the Tiger-Cats.

The 27-year old from Clemson played 2 seasons in Hamilton. Last season, he caught only 11 passes in 4 games and had one TD. The team also announced Thursday that they traded defensive lineman Jermaine Mcelveen to Saskatchewan for receiver Lyle Leong Jr.

Also, the Ticats announced the signings of three draft picks. First, 2012 third round pick Arnaud Gascon-Nadon from the Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or. The defensive lineman is a 2 time J.P. Metras award winner as the top lineman in the CIS. You won’t find any McMaster Marauders in his fan club. Also signed were 2012 second rounder Courtney Stephen, a defensive back and a 2012 5th round pick of the Eskimos, defensive lineman Hasan Hazime.

Andrew Grigg was a lean, mean receiving machine for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 1995 through 2002. Friday night, he will be inducted into the Cats Claws Walk of Fame. Each year, special players and fan favourites are honoured by the fan club. Over his career with the black and gold, Grigg hauled in 319 passes. His best year being 2001 when he caught 77 passes for 1,150 yards. Also Friday, Peter Dyakowski and Ryan Hinds will receive the Charlotte Simmons Humanitarian Award for their work in the community, and McMaster defensive back Steve Ventresca will receive the Ray Johnson Award.
