Ticats ready for Calgary

Any athlete will tell you that losing stinks. Starting with back to back defeats isn’t what the Tiger-Cats envisioned but it’s the hand they’ve been dealt.

The Tiger-Cats head into week 4 of the season looking up at everyone in the east. And things don’t get any easier playing an undefeated Stampeders squad on Friday.

Despite the fact that Hamilton is still 0 for 2014, the team isn’t calling it situation critical just yet.

Running Back C.J. Gable: “We were hoping we’d come out, start off 2-0. But, like you said, last year we started off like this and all of a sudden we made it to the Grey Cup. So we hope we can win this game and go on and not lose a game and go back and forth like that.”

Head Coach Kent Austin: “They had the record last year for a reason and their current record is indicative of the current team we’re facing so it’s a challenge but we’ll be ready to play.”

And they’ll likely be playing with Andy Fantuz back in the lineup. After missing 3 weeks with a concussion, number 83 has returned to practice and should get the green light for Friday — a move which will give Austin and the offense some options against the league’s stingiest defense.

Kent Austin: “We will configure what we do a little bit differently when you have a different skill set in there that Andy brings.”

Receiver Andy Fantuz: “We have a lot of depth on our team but anytime you can add another weapon there it’s going to help. Guys will be back at their more familiar positions and that’ll definitely help too.”
