The 2015 Ticat season officially kicked off today, and fans kicked up their heels at Tim Hortons field to celebrate.
Such a beautiful day, everyone had smiles on, feeling lucky to be in Hamilton, in a new stadium at the free community open house. Even food was half price at the concessions.
It was a rare personal experience for fans on the field with their football heros.
For longtime Ticat fans, the heros of yore were the attraction.
One man brought a piece of the old stadium to get signed by everybody.
Former Tiger-Cat, Dale Sanderson was impressed with his first look at Tim Hortons Field.
“This is going to be the new legacy for fans long after guys like us are gone. It’s great for Hamilton.
I can tell you stories about this guy Wally Zetelny. I could tell you stories all day long, but you couldn’t air them.”
That was then, this is now.
When you’re up on the concourse looking at the downtown, you wouldn’t believe where you’re living. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
People remember Ivor Wynne Stadium as a huge stadium, and then come to Tim Hortons field and say the same thing. They think it’s amazing.
This is Steeltown, full of nostalgia, but excited about the future.
