Three Welland men face drug trafficking charges after traffic stop
A traffic stop in Welland led to the arrest of three residents after more than $30,000 worth of illicit drugs were seized from the vehicle.
Around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 2, Niagara police noticed a suspended driver operating a red Hyundai vehicle in the area of Duncan Street and Lasalle Street and pulled them over.
The driver was found to be in possession of 44.7 grams of suspected fentanyl.
There were two passengers in the vehicle as well, and an additional 141.2 grams of suspected fentanyl were recovered in the vehicle, along with 0.6 grams of cocaine, 8.1 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 76 acetaminophen pills.
The total combined street value of the illegal drugs is estimated at $30,630.

Adam Fougere, 39, of Welland was charged with failure to comply with a release order, driving while under suspension, and several charges related to the possession of illicit drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Two passengers in the Hyundai, 31-year-old Kyle Belzner and Jeremy McGilvery, 37, both also of Welland, face similar drug trafficking related charges.
