On Saturday, April 16, 2016 shortly before 7 p.m. Hamilton Police were called to a residence on Valrose Drive in Stoney Creek for a shooting.
Seventy year old Gina Milroy lives in the house with her two sons, on 33 Valrose Drive. 32 year old Michael and 37 year old James were found dead along with James’ girlfriend 19 year old Aerlaena Smith. Aerlanea leaves behind two young children, Gavin and Bailey. Gina was the only survivor but remains in critical condition.
As a result of its investigation, the Hamilton Police Homicide Unit is confirming that James Milroy shot Aerlaena Smith, Michael Milroy and the surviving female victim, Gina Milroy, before turning the gun on himself. Aerlaena and James were involved in a relationship.
The next door neighbour says Gina moved into the home 38 years ago. She said the family was wonderful and that they couldn’t have asked for better neighbours. That’s why when they saw the street filled with police cruisers Saturday night they were shocked.
The forensic examination of the scene has been concluded, however the investigation is still ongoing.
