Thorold man arrested on Fraud charges

Niagara police have arrested a Thorold man in connection with an investigation into several frauds in the Niagara region.

Police say the offences involved a man accepting money for construction jobs that he never intended on doing.

Detectives identified at least 12 victims in the investigation and they say the total amount defrauded was in excess of $200,000.

Police identified a suspect and received information that he was in a home in the area of Forster Ave. and McDonagh Cr. in Thorold.

On Thursday, 39-year-old Brody Racine was arrested and charged with seven counts of fraud over $,5000, three counts of fraud under $5,000, five counts of theft under $5,000, five counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, breach of conditional sentence order, failure to attend court, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and six counts of theft over $5,000.
