The Niagara Peninsula is one step closer to being designated an UNESCO global geopark

The Niagara peninsula could soon join the ranks of the most beautiful and bio-diverse places in the world.

The area could be designated a UNESCO geopark site next year, the first for Ontario and the 6th in Canada.
