A 16-year-old girl has died after a two-car collision and vehicle rollover in Niagara Falls on Monday night.

The cars collided shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Thorold Stone Road between Beechwood and Townline roads.

Investigation revealed the teenager lost control while driving a grey Hyandai Accent westbound on Thorold Stone Road and entered oncoming traffic, colliding with a black Chevrolet Cruz driven by a 32-year-old woman.

Tragically the teen succumbed to injuries at a local hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet Cruz was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone with information or who may have video or dashcam footage is encouraged to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1009259.

Niagara police believe that poor weather conditions including high winds and drifting snow may have been a factor in the collision.
