Team Canada heads into Day 7 with seven collective medals, as they prepare to face Switzerland in men’s hockey and the United States for men’s and women’s curling.
Snowboarder Éliot Grondin finished just behind Austrian Alessandro Hämmerle in the men’s snowboard cross, earning him a silver medal — his third ever Olympic medal.
Grondin had won another silver medal for the same event in 2022 Beijing.
Earlier Thursday, freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury narrowly missed out on claiming gold in men’s moguls, after a tiebreaker left him to win silver.
The 33-year-old from Deux-Montagnes, Que., matched Australia’s Cooper Woods with an exact score of 83.71 in the final run, but lost to Woods’ higher marks for turns.
Speed skater Courtney Sarault took bronze in the women’s 500 metres, finishing the race in 42.427 seconds.
This is the second medal the 25-year-old from Moncton, N.B., has won this Olympics, after getting silver in the mixed team relay.
